Surprise’s 2007 inaugural Miracle League Bambino Buddy Ball Program at DreamCatcher Park earned the state’s 2007 OUTSTANDING ADAPTIVE RECREATION PROGRAM award by the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association.
Bambino Buddy Ball was created to provide athletes with physical or intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate in the great game of baseball. Each athlete is paired with a buddy to assist them with hitting a ball or running the bases.
The 2007 season consisted of 45 participants and 40 “Buddy’s” from all over the valley and the program has grown dramatically ever since!
DreamCatcher Park was also presented with a Best of the West Award in 2007, for its commitment to make sports accessible for all!
Super Buddy Soccer
The Super Buddy Soccer League was established to allow players, 4 to 12 years old who are either physically or intellectually challenged to participate in soccer. Divisions will be created based upon age. The league allows a "Buddy" to assist the player throughout the game as needed (stopping ball, pushing wheelchair, etc.). "Buddy" helpers must be age 12 or older to volunteer. This league is designed so that all participants can learn and enjoy recreational activities in a safe environment while having fun!

Power Wheelchair Soccer We are currently looking for athletes who are interested in joining a power wheelchair soccer league.This program will begin once six athletes have registered. Time and location of practice will be determined at a later date. Athletes must be 8 years of age and have a power wheelchair to qualify for play. Surprise Road Runners Wheelchair Basketball Team The Surprise Road Runners Wheelchair Basketball Team is a member of the Southern California West Coast Basketball Association which is a part of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association.
